So here are the questions that we discussed last week:

What's up with transubstantiation?
Can anyone name all of the ten Commandments?
Can you lose your salvation?

And there was some discussion about patience?

I have yet decided on the main question for this coming Wednesday, but of course I will know and post it tomorrow. And as you all can see there isn't a whole lot of structure to this, so if you missed a discussion we would still love to hear your input. So be dwelling on the recent questions for this week and we will continue discussion Wednesday night.

Keep the wheels turning.

I have a questions which is kind of difficult. I have been discussing this with several other Christians. The issue is on homosexuals. What are we suppose to do with them? the US government is trying to forbid that they cannot get married. Which I agree to this, but what about their freedom? What kind of sign are we putting on Chrsitians by talking down or forbidding homosexuality? Sometimes I feel that we are throwing away our chances of reaching them by getting rid of their freedom. Don't think I believe in homesexuality. I don't, I think it is wrong biblically. How do you reach someone in that culture? I have several friends that are homosexuals. I hang around them or talk to them. There are certain acts that I don't particpate in or discuss. I just don't believe in it, but I do enjoy their friendship. I feel that homosexuality is just as wrong as dealing drugs and I don't get rid of their friendship. They know I don't agree and won't discuss or talk about it around me. What do we do?

I can't even say transubstantiation. What in the world does it mean?

just love 'em like you're already doing. be accepting of them. they know where you stand, so now, you show them Christ's love, by being there. your goal is not to change them, it's to let them in on the secret in your life that's so awesome, Christ. after all, He's your one constant, the one thing you can depend on. and He accepts them. and isn't that what we're all looking for? acceptance. pray for opportunities to share scripture and then listen, but don't beat 'em down with it. be sensitive to the Spirit and what He tells you and nudges you to do. if you feel nothing, just hang out like you already do, God will open the doors, relax and you'll feel the conviction when you're supposed to. in the meantime, love 'em, and laugh often.

Lou we actually did touch on the homosexuality issue in group last week... Suzy and I are fairly liberal in our ideas on it. Is it wrong? yes. Is it more wrong than the sins we all do day to day? No. I totally ditto all Suzanne said... unless they're trying to change YOUR mind on things... then I think you showing them the love of Christ is the best way to go. A youth pastor of mine once said something along the lines of, "Remember who it was Jesus befriended... it wasn't the "good" crowd of perfect people. Also remember, he wasn't partying WITH them... but rather changing their hearts..." I thought that was a great way to approach issues like this.

About Lou's post:

The more we love holiness, the more we will God, the more we will love sinners, the more we will understand all of our desperate hopelessness without God's grace. Just because we long for righteousness does not mean that we have to abandon our relationships with homosexuals or others. It should drive us to love them even more. I think Jesus gave us a good example of how we can approach a situation like this when he confronted the woman at the well (John 4). Jesus not only initiated the relationship he also asked this Samaritan to draw him some water (which was a no-no in Jewish custom). In addition Jesus was quick to share the good news with her and point out her sin in a gentle way. Besides, how can they come to know him if they don't hear the Good News (Romans 10:12-14)? One more thing, Awesome Blog Taylor!!
